Peter Marten is a guitar player, teacher, and composer based in Kansas City. Focused mainly on jazz, Peter enjoys writing/playing/performing music of all kinds. Growing up in Kansas City, Peter started learning guitar at an early age. He continued his studies all the way through school, leading him to pursue a 2 year performance degree from the Musician’s Institute in Los Angeles, California. Upon completing his coursework in LA, Peter returned to the Midwest to attend the University of Kansas, where he held the guitar chair in KU’s award winning Jazz Ensemble I for 3 years.

Outside of guitar, Peter enjoys spending time with his fiancee Estarah and their two cats, Pat and Tilda.
